# 75 Brandan - One Hundred Alla Prima Portraits of American Teenagers

Brandan was wearing the coolest Batman t-shirt, and I really wanted to paint the bat signal, but it just wouldn't fit! Brandan is a musician, and was very friendly and great to work with. He is graduating from Urban Promise Academy HIgh School in Camden, NJ today. Congratulations, Brandan!

Portraits of Promise: One Hundred Alla Prima Portraits of American Teenagers

On this blog I am documenting my current painting series, "One Hundred Alla Prima Portraits of American Teenagers". I began this series in September, 2010. The models are all teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19. Any statements in quotes included just below the paintings are from the models, and are taken from their responses to a questionnaire I asked them to complete. Each portrait is painted from life in a single four hour session. The paintings are all 14"x14", oil on canvas, and are painted under artificial light.
